In some exceptional cases, women having gestation diabetes can go through the problem of an increase in urination and thirst.

• Fasting Plasma Glucose test (FPG)

The Fasting Plasma Glucose test measures the blood sugar level of a body at an instant of time. It is done after fasting i.e. the testing is done when the patient has not eaten anything. The best time to take the FPG test is in the morning when you fast for 7 to 8 hours.

• A1C Test

The A1C test gives the average glucose level of blood for the past three months. The patient can eat or drink anything before taking the A1C test. The A1C test results were inaccurate to the people suffering from anaemia. The A1C gives the result in percentage, if the percentage is high then the average level of glucose in the blood will also be high.

• Random Plasma Glucose test (RPG)

The Random Plasma Glucose test (RPG) is done when the doctor, diagnose any symptoms of diabetes. In this type of test, blood is taken out and is tested to measure the glucose level in blood. The patient doesn’t have to fast for taking the FPG test, it can be done anytime.
