In India, we celebrate Teachers’ day on 5th September. But do you know why do we celebrate in India? It is the best way of celebrating the birth anniversary of India’s Second president Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. He was a great Teacher who was fully dedicated to Education. He was a great philosopher who contributed a lot to Indian Education Systems. He was an author and also second vice president of India.

As you already know that 5th September is the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, Once a day some friends and students of him requested him to allow to celebrate his birthday, but Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan told to celebrate this day as Teachers’ day instead of birthday celebration. So Since from this day, We celebrate Teachers’ Day on 5th September. The First Teachers’ day was celebrated in India on 5th September 1962.

Importance of Teachers’ Day –

Teachers’ day is a celebration which encourages all the teachers to create a great impact on society. It helps the students to realize how teachers play an important role in education. Okay let’s understand with a simple example so you can easily relate with them – Everyone knows about producer and consumer right, a consumer only consumes contents, when producer provides valuable contents, so In the education field, teachers are producer and students are consumers.
